Disability Policy Consortium

The Disability Policy Consortium (DPC) is a statewide cross-disability rights organization that advocates the civil rights of people with disabilities by redefining the role of government as it affects the lives of people with disabilities.

  • DPC co-facilitates Disability Advocates Advancing Our Healthcare Rights (DAAHR) a statewide coalition of 20+ disability, elder, and healthcare advocacy groups in MA. DAAHR advances healthcare policies that promote person-centered, culturally competent care for people with disabilities and other complex needs.
  • DPC staff hold leadership positions on the state's dual eligible demonstration project "One Care", and the Delivery System Reform Implementation Advisory Council (DSRIC). The councils provide MassHealth guidance on the development and implementation of two MassHealth innovation plans in the state.
  • DPC works with other disability groups and its allies to educate legislators at the state and federal levels about issues of importance to people with disabilities.
  • Under its YesHealth initiative, DPC conducted Community Based Participatory Action Research (CBPR) on healthcare topics of importance to the disability community. People with disabilities are involved in all aspects of the research process. Data and analysis from the research is shared with the disability community and policymakers.
